I'm Hilla-Tuuli Keränen, a 21-year-old university student born in
Kajaani but living in Helsinki (Kamppi), the capital of Finland, for the
third year now.
I've been keen on dogs all my life, but the real start to this wonderful
hobby, which in fact has became a lifestyle during the years, was in
1996 when we got our first dog, red irish setter "Alma" (Northworth Red
Hattrick). After moving to Helsinki in the autumn of 2007 there haven't
been a dog living wit me, but my big dream (to hopefully come true in
2010) is to have an afghan female puppy out of our beloved Pihla's (CIB
Neliapilan Tietähtiin) beautiful daughter Lucia (CIB Neliapilan Santa
Lucia).
For me, the most important part of the dog world is dog shows. I had a
very succesfull 8-year career as a junior handler when I was younger and
ever since I had to stop junior handling due to becoming over-aged in
2006, I've been focusing handling afghans. Active show person as I am, I
also enjoy working in dog shows as a ring steward, which I've been doing
since October 2008. I've also been invited to judge a couple of junior
handling competitions, which I'm very proud and happy of.
Besides dogs, there are two things that I've been always and will never
stop loving: dancing and music. I studied dancing (ballet, jazz and
modern dancing) for 15 years alltogether, 8 of them in the special
training classes of Kajaanin Tanssiteatteri / Kajaani Dance, while
living in Kajaani, starting taking lessons at the age of 4 years. Music
came along a couple of years later with piano and flute playing lessons,
special music training classes in comprehensive school (1997-2004, aged
9 to 16) and a music oriented educational structure in high school years
(2004-2007, aged 16 to 19).
I hope You enjoy your visit on our website and come back soon for
updates!
Best wishes,
Hilla-Tuuli
